Nigerian actress Ufuoma McDermott has made a bold claim that she is one of the most successful actresses in the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood.

Ufuoma made this statement in an interview with Punch’s Sunday Scoop where she spoke about friendship in the industry, her relevance as an actress among other topics.

The actress in the interview stated that over the years, she has been able to perform movie roles with ease because of how much training and learning she had put in.

She added that as a result of her hardwork, she has movie roles on a platter and that in her books is what success is all about.

She said: “I dare say that I am one of the most successful actors there is. I have constantly sought to up my dexterity as an actor; for me, that is success.

“I have been able to interpret roles I am super proud of. I have roles on a platter based on previous performances.”

Speaking about friendships with other actors and actresses in the industry, Ufuoma mentioned that her friendship with some colleagues such as Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo and Chioma Akpotha has lasted several years because of the love they have for each other.

Ufuoma explained that when there is love among friends, you tend to care for each other and also look out for them.

“What we feel for each other is care and love. If you love someone, you look out for them.

“I don’t know if I have ever sat back and drawn a plan, saying this person is going to be my friend.

“It just happens; your spirit just flows with certain kinds of people. You allow them into your inner circle.

“It is something that just happens, it is not planned” she said.
