The news was revealed in a statement released by Burniton Music Group on Tuesday, September 24, on social media which said the label had parted ways with Kelvyn Boy after an audit.
The label said that it signed a one-year contract with Kelvyn Boy in January 2018 with an option to extend it to four years.
Although the contract expired on January 21, 2019, the label said it continued to work with the Afrobeats artiste under the terms of his old agreement.
However, it took the decision to release Kelvyn Boy based on the audit and his conductBoy during the time the contract ran.
This puts paid to all the speculation that has been going on for weeks about tensions at Burniton Music Group. There were claims that all was not well between the Kpo Keke artiste and Kelvyn Boy. Stonebwoy's long time manager, Blakk Cedi was also reportedly no longer with him.
When Stonebwoy and Kelvyn Boy unfollowed each other on social media, the rumours gained grounds.
Although all sides remained quiet on the issue, Stonebwoy's latest media rounds gave some credence to the rumours.
In one of the interviews he stated that Blakk Cedi was no longer his manager but was an agent. He indicated that per some of the things he had heard and experienced, one could say Kelvyn Boy had been ungrateful.
The Burniton Music Group still has MTN Hitmaker Season 7 winner OV and Stonebwoy on the label.
