FOR five years, Ghanaian Gospel diva Ohemaa Mercy and her Royalty Music label have brought Ghanaians the ultimate worship event with the Tehillah Experience.
The 6th edition of the concert, themed: “The Holy Spirit Experience” is slated for the ICGC Calvary Temple at Sakumono, Accra on August 11 and this year, as has been the case in previous editions, a strong collection of spirit-filled stars from Ghana and across the continent would be on hand to support Ohemaa Mercy.
The legendary Elder Mireku, Ceccy Twum, Diana Hamilton and Joe Mettle would be joined by international artistes, Michael Mahendere from Zimbabwe, Lebo Sekgobela from South Africa and Evelyn Wanjiru from Kenya respectively.
Michael Mahendere is a Zimbabwean Gospel musician, pastor and businessman. He is a pastor at United Family International Church in Zimbabwe.
He started doing music in 1990 and began his career as part of the group, Mahendere Brothers that consisted of his brothers Akim, Misheck, and Amos. Their first album was Mwari Mukuru in 1994, which topped the charts in Southern Africa.
He has had a successful solo career with his album, Getting Personal With God II, producing hits such as Makanaka Jesu and Mumoyo. With four albums, Michael has won several awards in his home country and across Africa.
Lebo Sekgobela is one of the most celebrated worshippers in South Africa who came into stardom after the release of her album, Restored.
Lebo has graced many stages with artistes such as Benjamin Dube, Solly Mahlangu, William Sejake, Vicky Vilakazi, Neyi Zimu, and many more.
In her musical career, she has ministered not only in South Africa but in countries like Singapore, New York, London, Chicago, Lesotho and Botswana.
Evelyn Wanjiru Agundabweni is a Kenyan Gospel singer and worship leader. She is also a music director, songwriter and host of an annual event, Praise Atmosphere, in Kenya.
Some of her hit songs are Mungu Mkuu, Celebrate, Jehovah Elohim, Waweza, Hosanna, Nikufahamu and Tulia. With three albums to her credit, she has won several Glove Awards, the most popular gospel awards show in Kenya.
Her song, Mazingira, was also selected as the theme song of the Kenyan government’s campaign to reclaim Mau Forest in 2010. The song impressed the Prime Minister of Kenya, who appointed Wanjiru as the official music ambassador for Mau Forest.
The 6th edition of Tehillah Experience is scheduled to start at 4pm and entry is free.
