GOWA is aimed at honouring women who have impacted the growth of the country in areas such as politics, health, education, sports and showbiz.
The seven being considered for the ultimate honours are Afia Pokua of Adom FM, Akumaa Mama Zimbi also of Adom FM, Nana Aba Anamoah of GhOne TV, Philomena Antonio, Ohemaa Woyeje of Adom FM, Yvonne Okoro, an actress and Israella Kafui Mansu, also an actress and an enrepreneur.
One of them would be crowned as the Outstanding Woman of the Year on November 30.
In all, a number of other women would also be honoured in 22 different categories in the GOWA 2018.
Mrs Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, founding President of GOWA at a ceremony to unveil the nominees on September 28, 2018, indicated that, women play vital roles in the socio-economic setting of the country, yet society has failed to recognise their efforts.
She said GOWA has a strong conviction that the time has come for women to be accorded the honour they deserve, so to serve as an encouragement for other women to impact more positively in the society.
