Over the weekend, there were publications on various blogs and social media platforms that Stonebwoy was set to leave Zylofon Media, the record label he joined less than a year ago.
However, in an interview with Showbiz on Sunday, February 25, Sammy Flex said the rumours were unfounded and there has been no communication from either Stonebwoy or his manager of any desire to leave the record label.
“ In fact last Thursday, Zylofon Media held a meeting with all our artistes and although Stonebwoy is out of the country, he was represented by his road manager and wenreceived no indication of him wanting to leave
us,” he said.
“Zylofon Media has a very good relationship with all our artistes including Stonebwoy and we are still working with them and fulfilling our end of the agreements we have with them,” he said.
He said if Stonebwoy had any problems with Zylofon Media, either he or his manager would have communicated this to the record label.
Sammy Flex shot down any suggestion that the recent signing of Shatta Wale to Zylofon Media might be behind the rumours of Stonebwoy leaving.
“Signing Shatta Wale is not a problem for Stonebwoy. Both are great artistes in their own rights and Stonebwoy remains Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale remains Shatta Wale,” he added.
Stonwbwoy was unveiled to the public as a signee of Zylofon Media on Thursday, June 15 at the premises of the media company at East Legon.
Explaining the decision to sign Stonebwoy, the CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, said the artiste’s talent, integrity, versatility set him apart from other musicians on the Ghanaian music scene.
He said Stonebwoy’s skill was an asset that made him suitable for every platform in the world.
“Stonebwoy is not just an artiste.
He understands the music industry and is not just an average artiste only good at getting in front of the
microphone and singing,” he noted
