Visiting Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh Saturday said establishing an independent Palestinian state is in Jordan's interest.
"Establishing a Palestinian state is part of the Arab peace initiative... and it is in Jordan's interest," Judeh told a joint news
conference with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Reyad al-Maliki following a meeting in Ramallah with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
This is the only solution to conflicts in the region, he added.
The top Jordanian diplomat said he had conveyed a message from Jordanian King Abdullah II to Abbas, but he did not reveal the content of
letter.
He said the letter reflects the ongoing coordination between Jordan and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on the establishment of a future Palestinian state.
The Jordanian king is fully supporting the PNA and President Abbas, Judeh said.
He also said what had been recently presented to revive the stalled peace process "is not enough to resume the negotiations," adding that "we will do all our best in order to get out of this crisis."
Meanwhile, al-Maliki said President Abbas and Jouda discussed many important issues of common interests during the meeting.
