Representatives of MTN West and Central Africa (WECA) Zone and top management from the MTN Group are meeting in Abidjan on Thursday, to share experiences acquired in their respective jurisdictions to strengthen operational links to consolidate their gains.
The event, dubbed "MTN Day" would also be used to showcase innovations and achievements of the nine operations in the WECA Zone over the years and introduce new MTN ambitions for African communities.
It would also showcase the contributions of MTN in the areas of social development, including education, health, sports and entertainment across the zone.
The WECA zone comprises Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroun, Benin, Liberia, Guinea Conakry and Guinea Bissau.
An exhibition would also be mounted for the public and the media in the WECA and the Pan-African zone to discover MTN and its operations across thematic stands, a statement from the MTN Group said.
The event is also being attended by several stakeholders including lawmakers, politicians and regulators such as the Director-General of Ghana's National Communications Authority, Mr. Bernard Forson Jnr.
Ms. Mawuena Dumor, Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana, told the GNA that the MTN Ghana would be making a presentation on MTN Zone, an innovative product developed by a team in Ghana to ease mobile traffic congestion.
"Other operators would be making presentations on various innovations and each operator will learn from the other and each would pick and implement those innovations that would provide a competitive advantage for the respective jurisdictions," she said.
Ms Dunor said the event would also allow MTN officials to exchange and share ideas with their partners; clients and stakeholders.
