As part of its commitment to the development of the nation and local organizations, Mobile Telecommunication Network, (MTN) Ghana, has contracted Checkpoint Ghana Limited, a security printing and business forms manufacturing company, to print the company's scratch cards.
"We believe successes in emerging economies are built on relationships with local companies and nourished by long term actions and this we have displayed with Checkpoint," said Mr Leo Skalartos, Chief Financial Officer of MTN Ghana.
MTN settled on Checkpoint Limited after a competitive bidding. As part of the deal the company would print the scratch cards on a high quality "Entatag" paper which is the corporate security paper of MTN.
Speaking at the signing on Thursday, Mr. Skarlatos expressed delight at the deal since Checkpoint was a company of high repute in the West Africa sub-region.
He noted that MTN was the biggest taxpayer in the country and also had one of the highest employers in the country since "it employs thousands formally and over 60,000 vendors and dealers informally".
"One only needs to consider the popularity of the MTN to MTN stands dotted across the country to appreciate our contribution to employment generation," he added.
Mr Isaac Boateng, General Manager of Checkpoint Ghana Limited, expressed his appreciation to MTN Ghana for the confidence reposed in his company.
