Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has congratulated Africa World Airlines on the launch of direct flights from Accra to Ouagadougou, commencing June 3, 2025, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of GACL, in a congratulatory letter to the airline said, “as a stakeholder in the Aviation Industry, GACL shares your success and wishes you the best on the new route.”
She said the introduction of a direct route signified a new era of convenience and efficiency for both business and leisure travellers, offering passengers more options and seamless connectivity between Ghana and Ouagadougou. She said Uganda Airlines had also obtained all the necessary permits and approvals to commence operations out of Accra.
She said the dates of commencement of operations and flight schedules will be communicated in due course.
“Uganda Airlines will become the 25th International Airline to operate into Kotoka International Airport,” she said.
The CEO said these developments were a clear indication of the confidence in Ghana’s aviation industry and significantly enhances efforts at positioning Ghana as the Preferred Aviation Hub and Leader in Airport Business in West Africa.
