The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has stated that Huawei Technologies could play a significant role in supporting Ghana’s agenda to reset and transform its energy sector through renewable energy solutions.
The Minister made these remarks during a meeting with the Head of the Business Environment Department at Huawei Technologies (Ghana) S.A. Limited, Julia Qiu Ye, on Monday, 7 April.
The discussion centred on deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of digitalisation and renewable energy.
In a Facebook post shared by the Ministry, Ms Ye commended Huawei’s ongoing partnership with the Government of Ghana and expressed hope that the mutually beneficial relationship would continue to strengthen. She also reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to advancing relations with Ghana.
Mr Ablakwa, in turn, applauded the successes of the long-standing collaboration between Ghana and Huawei, especially in efforts to digitise the public sector, and noted the company’s potential to contribute significantly to Ghana’s renewable energy transformation.
