The impactful initiative, which revitalised the educational in­frastructure of the school, has been met with widespread praise, particularly from the Paramount Chief of Essikado, Nana Kobina Nketsia V, an esteemed alumnus of the school.

This marks Karpowership Ghana’s second major school renovation project in Takoradi, further underscoring the company’s dedication to enhancing education­al facilities in Ghana.

The comprehensive renova­tion addressed critical challenges, including leaking roofs, damaged blackboards, broken doors and windows, and cracked floors. The project also introduced significant improvements, such as a fully func­tional washroom, a reliable mech­anised borehole for clean water, and a revitalised learning environ­ment tailored to meet the needs of both students and teachers.

The handing-over ceremony, held on last Friday, was on the theme: ‘Powering Communities Through Education,’ aligns with Karpowership Ghana’s mission to support quality education and advance Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Kobina Nketsia V commend­ed Karpowership saying that by transforming the school, Karpow­ership had invested in the future of Essikado, expressing personal gratitude.

He fur­ther urged all stakeholders to support community development initiatives and encouraged parents to take active roles in shaping their children’s futures.

Sandra Amarquaye, Communi­cations Manager for Karpowership Ghana, expressed the company’s pride in the project, emphasis­ing the transformative power of education.

“At Karpowership, we believe education is the foundation of every community. Through this renovation, we aim not only to contribute to achieving SDG 4 but also to provide students with an environment to learn, grow, and excel. We are committed to nur­turing responsible adults who will contribute positively to society.”

The Headmistress of St. Mark Anglican School, Madam Flora Ohenewa Kwafo, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Karpower­ship Ghana for transforming the school, saying “This renovation is a long time answered prayer. We will ensure the facility is well-main­tained, and I urge my staff to join me in making this possible.”

Madam Matilda Lairg, Regional Manager of the Anglican School Unit, Ghana Education Service, also praised Karpowership Ghana for the impactful project, adding that, “Thank you, Karpowership Ghana, for this incredible transfor­mation. But its true value will only be realised if parents and teachers work together to shape the future of our children.”

Adjoa Junah, a parent, described the renovation as life-changing, “This is a dream come true. My son now has a beautiful and safe place to learn. I’m thankful to Karpowership for their generousity and for giving our children a better chance to succeed.”

Georgina Owusu, a student, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “I’m so happy to be back in a classroom that is clean and safe. I promise to study hard and make my teachers and parents proud.”

The newly renovated St. Mark Anglican School is set to bene­fit over 500 students while also serving as a valuable resource for the Essikado community. The facility’s design allows it to double as a venue for social events, further expanding its impact on the local community.
