Anti-malarial medicine, Lufart, has been adjudged the Pharmaceutical Product of the Year at the 2024 Ghana International Products Awards held last Saturday.
The awards scheme is a large consumer-reviews-based awards that guides consumers to the best products using a national representative review of 40,000 consumers in the country and beyond.
The survey was designed to evaluate product innovation on several criteria, including product appeal, satisfaction, advocacy, purchase interest, uniqueness, relevance and excitement.
Therefore, the award to Lufart, which is manufactured by Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, marketed and distributed by Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, was in recognition of the product's unique quality, acceptance, dominance and relevance on the Ghanaian and international markets.
The annual event also serves as a platform to honour, acknowledge and award excellence in innovation, as well as the notable contributions made by key market players to boost the country’s economy including manufacturers, distributors, retailers in addition to outstanding products.
It was held on the theme: "Discovering the Best of the Best,” and brought together a diverse group of professionals, including top executives, entrepreneurs and innovators, making it a melting pot of ideas and opportunities.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Samuel Kofi Dentu, noted that the nation had consistently demonstrated its ability to create products that challenged and elevated lives.
He, therefore, urged all industry players to view the awards as a boost to their confidence knowing that their individual performances were being tracked. A Managing Director of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr Christopher Mensah, said winning the Pharmaceutical Product of the Year was evidence of customers and consumers' satisfaction with the quality and efficacy of the medicine.
He dedicated the award to Tobinco Group's Executive Chairman, Nana Amo Tobbin, for his stellar leadership in the fight against malaria, their staff for their tremendous dedication and commitment and finally their customers for their loyalty to the brand.
