ASA Savings and Loans Limited has taken a significant step towards supporting Ghana’s Green Ghana agenda by organizing a tree planting exercise at Osei Tutu Senior High School in the Ashanti Region.
The event, which took place on Friday, July 5, 2024, saw the planting of over 200 trees on the school premises.
The tree planting initiative was spearheaded by the Kwadaso Area Manager for ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Enoch Dzidodo Fiador, alongside Felix Adedeme, the Divisional Manager for Ashanti North, and Cudjoe Asiedu Mensah, the Branch Manager for the Tanoso Branch.
Speaking at the event, Enoch Dzidodo Fiador highlighted the importance of the exercise, emphasizing its role in combating climate change through afforestation efforts.
He noted that planting more trees is crucial for environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change.
Mr Fiador also mentioned that the exercise aimed to instil a sense of patriotism among the students, who are the future leaders of Ghana.
The event was well-attended by various representatives from ASA Savings and Loans Limited, school authorities, and the school’s agricultural masters as well as students.
Key school authorities present included Very Rev. Yaw Osei Bright, the Headmaster of Osei Tutu Senior High School, Raphael Osei Owusu, the Assistant Domestic, and Rev. Stephen Donyinah, the Assistant Administration.
The school’s agricultural masters, Yarney Olivia and Philip Boateng, also participated in the exercise, providing their expertise and support.
