Renewable energy is undeniably the ideal choice for a safer climate and life. As more people come to this realization, more companies are taking advantage of the business opportunities that renewable energy provides. Deep Solar Ghana, a company located in Madina, Accra, is one such company that offers solar energy systems for both domestic and commercial purposes.
Ghana has set a goal to achieve universal access to electricity by 2025 and has made significant progress towards it. As of 2021, the country has the highest electricity access rate in Sub-Saharan Africa, with 85.3% of the population having access to electricity. However, most rural areas still lack access to this basic necessity due to affordability and other issues.
According to a 2022 report by the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), approximately 1.2 million households in Ghana still do not have access to electricity. This lack of electricity availability is a major obstacle to many domestic and commercial activities in the country. Moreover, the absence of proper lighting makes it difficult for children in deprived communities to study at night, putting them at a disadvantage compared to their counterparts in the cities who have access to electricity and other basic amenities.
Ghana and many other African countries have an abundance of sunshine, yet many people still face electricity shortages. However, renewable energy companies in the private sector are stepping up to address this issue by introducing mini-grids and microgrid systems. One such initiative is the 'Rural Illumination Project' by Deep Solar Ghana, launched in Avetime in the Volta region of Ghana in July 2021. The project aims to provide electricity and clean water to rural and underprivileged areas of Ghana using solar energy. Deep Solar Ghana takes care of all aspects of solar energy, including installation and maintenance, and offers a range of products such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and solar controllers.
