One of the finest football finals – the Egyptian Super Cup, was staged in Abu Dhabi, United Arab of Emirates, between Egyptian heavyweights – Al Ahly and Zamalek, last Friday.
It was the fifth time the Super Cup was held outside of Egypt.
As it is no news now, Al-Ahly dazzled the enchanting crowd to emerge winners – upstaging their arch rivals 2-0 at the gorgeous Hazza bin Zayed Stadium – with goals coming from Brazilian Bruno Savio and Karim Fouad.
Glowingly, albeit Al-Ahly were deserved victors, the real stars of the match were Ghanaian event company, E-volution International, who organised the opening, half-time and closing ceremonies.
Described by many as incredibly spectacular, the over 25,000 spectators at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium were held spell-bound by the sheer brilliance, timely and cutting-edge execution of the performances. The opening ceremony paraded a well-curated cultural performance interspersed with flags display and concluded with a riveting performance by Egyptian musician, Ahmed Saad, accompanied by a laser show.
But even before the two teams returned for the second stanza, there was yet another thrilling performance by the Ahmed Saad – a spectacle that continued after the referee’s final signal. Indeed, the stage crew put together a heart-warming set for what was to be an unforgettable closing ceremony. The lifting of the Holy Grail was accompanied simultaneously by a blast of golden glitter confetti and fireworks.
Chief Executive Officer of E-volution International, Fred Darko, said the success of the event was an indication to the world that there were very capable organisations in Africa who can execute events to match up to standards anywhere in the world.
“It was a great opportunity for us at E-volution and we are grateful to the Department of Culture and Tourism as well as the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for believing in us to handle an event of such magnitude. We knew what we were capable of as an organisation, so we looked forward with anticipation and excitement when we won the bid. And this should signal to the world that African companies are very capable of executing world class events.”
The E-volution International capo did not take the credit alone, attributing the success of the event to the hard-working crew and all partners who contributed in diverse ways to make the event happen.
“I want to say thank you to the entire crew for their hard work and the unrelenting spirit they showed from conceptualization through to planning and execution of the event. I’m also grateful to all partners who contributed in various ways to make this event successful.”
E-volution International is a wholly-owned Ghanaian company considered by many across Africa and the Middle East as the agency of choice for leading global brands, providing them with amazing experiences and timeless memories through the creation of original content and events.
