Although beneficial to both companies and interns, hosting an internship program can be strenuous for the company. As such, the African Energy Chamber (AEC), the EPP team in particular, acts as a pillar for host companies to lean on.
Companies that join the EPP can rest assured that the AEC will play its part in this collaboration. Here are some of the ways in which the AEC assists companies in the Energy Pioneers Program:
Selection of top-tier interns
In order to select the best candidates for the company, the EPP team will customize the program to the company’s specific needs. This includes the number of interns required, the department in which the interns will be working, internship duration, remuneration offered and any particular specifications. Program customization provides companies with an opportunity to raise any and all concerns and demands that the company may have with regards to the EPP. The EPP team will address these specification requests, concerns and demands to the best of its abilities. When shortlisting candidates, the EPP team will act with the utmost caretaking the company’s best interests into account. The EPP team will be fully equipped to select top-tier candidates for an internship with the company.
Provision of an Internship Preparation Manual
The EPP team has created an Internship Preparation Manual that shortlisted candidates will be quizzed on. This Manual is multi-functionary- the content is directed at preparing shortlisted candidates for the second round of interviews with the company and providing some guidance on professionalism should they be selected for the internship amongst others. Furthermore, the Manual aids the recruitment process by testing shortlisted candidates’ understanding of the content and assisting the EPP team in determining which candidates would be best suited to the company.
Continuous mentorship
Statistics show that individuals with mentors tend to reach their professional goals twice as fast as those without mentors. The EPP team has availed themselves to be mentors to the interns by engaging in regular check-ups during the internship and offering continuous guidance and support where needed. This will assist companies by ensuring that the internship is running smoothly and facilitate communication between the company and the intern.
With the above benefits to consider, companies are welcome to participate in the Energy Pioneers Program. The African Energy Chamber assures stability and success during the process. Furthermore, the Energy Pioneers Program seeks to find intelligent, determined and curious young individuals for our host companies.
