Five team leaders of Tupperware Ghana, Sales Force and Consultants of premium plastic and kitchenware products, who were promoted for hard work were at the weekend rewarded by the Distributors and representatives of Tupperware Brands in Ghana with brand new SUVs.
The surprise reward that climaxed the company’s 2021 rally in Ghana, drew tears from the recipients who fought fruitlessly to suppress their joys.
Mrs. Christiana Agyeiwaa, Agnes Baidoo, Gladys Ayertey, Jennifer Mills-Graves and Emelia Cobbah were all promoted to Team Leaders, gold category, and handed the keys to the brand new Changan CS35 Plus cars during the rally at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
Tupperware Ghana Director, Mr. Ebenezer Sagoe assured the Demonstrators and Sales Force, mostly professionals who demonstrated and sold Tupperware products on part time, that more rewards await them and other hard working Managers in the coming years.
The awards come to add to Mrs Barbara Gbadamosi, a teacher, who was handed a brand new Toyota Rush for emerging the overall Top Team Leader in Africa at the 2020/2021 Africa jubilee of the company held in September.
“Let’s make sure that in 2022, there will be at least a Tupperware product in virtually every household in Ghana,” Mr. Sagoe urged the Managers and Demonstrators.
He said the company, with only a three-year presence in Ghana, has a salesforce of about 29,000 and targets to grow that number to about 100,000 in the coming year.
Mr. Sagoe said the ultimate aim of the company is to set up a plant in Ghana to manufacture the products locally and to distribute them to other countries.
The major hindrance now, he said, is the cost of doing business in Ghana. He said while the country remains largely attractive as a business destination owing to its stability, “the high cost of doing business make us uncompetitive.”
He called on the government to do something about the high cost of doing business because when it comes to job creation, Tupperware distributorship offers good numbers, not just for part-time job seekers but there are others who have also taken it up full-time.
“We can also look to scaling up the job opportunities when in about five years we start to produce the products in Ghana. We have a lot of growth potential and I know we will make great strides there.”
In all 66 managers, sales force, demonstrators and consultants were honoured for their hard work and presented with assorted prizes. The company has offices at Sakumono and Dansoman in Accra, Cape Coast and Kumasi, and according to Mr. Sagoe, there are plans to expand operations to other parts of the country.
In interviews with Graphic Online, manager after manager spoke of how rewarding selling Tupperware products have been and urged others seeking jobs or extra income to come onboard.
