A silver jubilee is always worth celebrating and you can be sure of a mega celebration when a giant like MTN Ghana is celebrating 25 years of fruitful, deeply satisfying service to Ghanaians.
From Spacefone to Areeba to MTN, the telecom giant has consistently brightened lives in all aspects of life. She has created employment for a number of Ghanaian youth, provided educational institutions with libraries, dormitory blocks, ICT centres as well as provided learning materials such as laptops, books, science facilities etc. She provided students with free websites as they studied from home during the lockdown period.
Hospitals have benefited from renovated wards and other facilities as well as PPEs in this Covid era. In supporting the efforts of government agencies, MTN zero-rated several public websites providing health and other COVID-19-related information, lending credence to her vision of leading the delivery of a bold new digital world to her customers and her mission of making her customers’ lives a whole lot brighter.
At an Editors' Forum held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, the CEO, Mr Selorm Adadevoh said that the company is investing over 200 million dollars in infrastructure. He said that the company is working towards putting its services in the hands of the customers so the customers can sit in their homes and do a lot things with their phones.
On the question of fraud, Mr Adadevoh said that security had been stepped up and that those who were engaging in fraudulent activities would have their telephones blocked, meaning that they would not be able to access any network in the country. He asked customers to be more vigilant and report any fraud to the company.
In appreciation to all her customers as she celebrates this milestone of 25 years, MTN has launched a promotion based on usage where participants accrue points by making calls, using data, sending SMS, subscribing to digital services and performing Mobile Money transactions where fees are charged.
