Aaron Marshall used to spend 80 percent of his time thinking about his real estate business. But when the co-founder and CEO of Keyrenter Franchise learned that he had cancer in his appendix, colon and liver, his priorities shifted dramatically.
He had just completed his first book, Cash Flow is King: Creating Wealth through Real Estate, _in which one of his early themes is mindset and letting go of doubt, when he received his diagnosis. Everything he had learned through nearly two decades as a prosperous real estate entrepreneur would suddenly be redirected toward managing his health and, he hopes, architecting a successful outcome.
Aaron’s interest in real estate began in college, after he enrolled in a real estate course during his final semester. That one course changed everything, and after college Aaron committed himself completely to growing his own real estate business and building personal wealth. But his success came at the expense of his personal life.
“I was hustling from the crack of dawn until well past midnight — pouring my heart and soul into my work — and was always focused on selling, selling, selling to keep business flowing,” he says. “That left little to no life balance and time off meant less money coming in.”
He learned there’s a much better way to earn a comfortable living than the never-ending hustle of working from sunup to sundown: creating cash flow, otherwise known as passive income. After learning and implementing this secret to success, Aaron’s dream was to mentor others through the tips and tools he shares in Cash Flow is King.
The book tells the story of recently-fired AJ, as he learns the ins and outs of building and growing his own real estate investing business. With the help of his mentor, Harold, AJ learns to shift his mindset, set up the necessary business paperwork and buy his first investment property. Cash Flow is King offers a beginner’s guide to entering the real estate market as a savvy buyer, investor and entrepreneur.
Since word of Aaron’s diagnosis has spread, he’s become a mentor of a different sort, setting an example for his employees, his family members and friends of what it means to live life with intention.
“Even more so now, I encourage people to find their passion and follow it,” Aaron says. “Life is precious, and I hope this book has given you the tools and inspiration to begin building your own cash flow business so you can focus on what matters most: living.”
