In collaboration with Africa Oil & Power, the African Energy Chamber will host a webinar on 13 MAY, 16:00 EAT On the opportunities in East Africa's oil and gas sector, with a focus on Uganda.
MODERATED BY THE CHAMBER’S PRESIDENT FOR EAST AFRICA, ENG. ELIZABETH ROGO, the webinar will highlight the opportunities for investment in the regions oil and gas sector as well as in education, training and skills.
This webinar follows the Chamber's earlier edition which explored Tullow Oil's recent agreement to sell its entire stake (33.3334 percent) in the Lake Albert Development including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline to french major, Total. This move is expected to catapult Uganda to be the region's largest crude oil producer and see its emergence as a major oil and gas player.
With the conversation guided by a focus on opportunities in East Africa, the webinar will also explore key aspects such as regional local content policy and implementation, Tanzania's oil and gas market impacts on the global industry, Kenya's plans to prepare for the market rebound amid the low oil price and, the billion dollar opportunities for local companies presented by key projects including, Total's Tilenga, CNOOC's Kingfisher, the East Africa Pipeline and Uganda's oil refinery project.
