Unilever Ghana, has presented four boxes of one of the company’s strongest germ-fighting soaps, Lifebuoy, to Graphic Editorial.
The gesture is to help members of editorial as well as visitors to the company to keep to constatnt washing of hands to prevent catching the COVID-19 coronavirus which is wrecking havoc globally.
Making the presentation, Mr Herbert Malm, Head of Public Affairs of Unilever, Ghana, said the presentation forms part of the company’s quest to help with the fight of the disease by encouraging handwashing at all times.
He said aside Graphic, the company has also made similar donations to other media houses and hospitals and lorry stations.
Mr Malm said in the light of its commitment, the company had started to collaborate with some media houses on the sharing of educational materials on practices to help people stay safe.
“There have been educational campaigns at some churches and lorry stations where hand washing stations are set up to encourage proper hand washing habits,” he added.
The Assistant Editor of the Graphic Business, Mr Charles Benoni Okine, who received the presentation on behalf of the Editor of the Daily Graphic, the flagship of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), thanked Unilever for the support, pledging the commitment of the staff of the editorial team and all other members of staff of the company to keep to the protocol of washing hands constantly.
He encouraged others to seriously abide by the preventive measures announced by the Ministry of Health and expressed the hope that soon, “the country will overcome the trauma caused by the disease”.
