The GSE Composite Index held onto gains in GCB Bank (+2.04%) to close 2.46 points (+0.11%) higher at 2,243.57 with a year-to-date return of -12.78% while market capitalization inched 0.04% up to settle at GH¢56.63 billion.
Accordingly, the GSE Financial Index was up 4.79 points (+0.24%) to close at 1,978.61 with a -8.13% year-to-date return.
The manufacturing index remained unchanged at 3,513.76 with a -24.49% year-to-date return.
Trading activity strengthened as 221,032 shares valued at GH¢500,089 changed hands compared to 108,604 shares valued at GH¢93,082 at the previous session. Ecobank Transnational dominated trades by volume accounting for 36.19% of total volume traded while GCB Bank dominated trades by value, accounting for 71.19% of the total value traded. We expect activity levels to increase at the next session.
