Total Petroleum (+1.69%) traded with gains today. However, losses in three oil marketing and financial counters lowered the GSE Composite Index marginally by 0.66 points (-0.03%) to close at 2,137.35 with a -16.91% YTD return while market capitalization moderated by 0.01% to settle at GH¢55.56 billion.
Downward price movements in Ecobank Ghana (-0.26%) and SIC Insurance (-10.00%) inched the GSE Financial Index down by 1.52 points (-0.09%) to close at 1,781.82 with a year-to-date return of -17.27%.
The SAS Manufacturing Index recorded no gains or losses, closing at yesterday’s level of 3,620.75 with a -22.19% year-to-date return.
Trading activity surged as 3,857,961 shares valued at GH¢456,717 changed hands compared with 38,198 shares valued at GH¢141,019 at the previous session. SIC dominated trades, accounting for 98.56% of total volume traded and 74.93% of the total value traded.
