The GSE Composite Index, up 7.29 points (0.33%), recovered from losses in the last two sessions on the back of price appreciations in three counters in the banking and insurance sectors to close at 2,217.72 with -13.78%. Market capitalization also edged upward (0.43%) to close at 56.55 billion.
Enterprise Group (2.94%), CAL Bank (2.44%) and Ecobank Transnational (11.11%) fared well at the session, pushing the GSE Financial Index up by 13.57 points (0.72%) to settle at 1,896.12 with a -11.96% YTD return.
The SAS Manufacturing Index remained unchanged for the third consecutive session, closing at 3,745.98 with a -19.50% year-to-date return.
Trading activity strengthened as a total of 9,279,506 shares valued at GH¢6,505,481.90 changed hands compared to 159,706 shares valued at GH¢295,470.95 yesterday. MTN Ghana dominated trading activity, accounting for 99.12% of total value traded and 99.26% of total volume traded.
