The GSE Composite Index moderated by 5.83 points (-0.26%) to close at 2,254.35 with a -12.36% year-to-date return due to declines in two counters in the banking sector, Ecobank Ghana Limited (-0.14%) and Standard Chartered Bank Limited (-0.11%). Market capitalization declined by 0.10% to settle at GH¢ 57.09 billion.
The GSE Financial Index was down 10.86 points (-0.55%) to close at 1,958.14 with a -9.08% YTD return while the SAS Manufacturing Index recorded no gains or losses, closing at 3,767.11 with a - 19.04% YTD return.
A total of 110,824 shares valued at GH¢73,657 summed up today’s session, compared with 151,615 shares valued at GH¢128,940 in the previous session. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated dominated trades by volume, accounting for 45.58% of total volume traded while MTN Ghana dominated trades by value, accounting for 30.44% of total value traded.
