Beneficiaries, after the training were given loans and start-up kits to enable them start their own enterprises to be independent.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkawkaw, Mr Steven Amoako, the acting Head of the BAC, said the centre was being financed by the government as a way to help the youth to create jobs for themselves and to make their lives meaningful.

He said out of the beneficiaries, three were trained in carpentry and auto- mechanics, whilst two had training as auto electricians.

The rest were taught grasscutter rearing, beads making fabrication of metal and China doors.

Ten others acquired training in piggery, sheep and goat rearing at the Adidome Training Institute to aid them adopt modern techniques in animal husbandry.

Mr Amoako said a total of GH¢348,200.00 had been given out as loans to beneficiaries to enable them to establish their own businesses.

He encouraged, especially the youth and other vulnerable people in the society to visit the various offices of the BAC in the country to get registered in order to benefit from the skills training program.
