Sector indices closed unchanged. The SAS Financial Index and the SAS Manufacturing Index recorded no gains or losses at the session. Consequently, the SAS-FI closed at 6,362.83 with a 0.45% YTD return while the SAS-MI closed at 4,601.08 with a -1.12% YTD return.
The benchmark index moderated by 4.80 points (-0.20%) to close at 2,449.72 with a -4.76% year-to-date return due to losses in two counters in the banking and petroleum marketing sectors. Market capitalization declined by 0.42% to settle at GH¢59.50 billion.
Trading activity weakened, with 67,329 shares valued at GH¢64,552.30 changing hands from 224,685 shares valued at GH¢729,170.45 at the previous session. Ecobank Transnational Inc (ETI) dominated trades by volume, accounting for 62.31% of total volume traded while Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) accounted for 81.81% of total value traded.
