In a news release by Management, a copy of which was made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), it explained that Mr Owusu-Agyemang was scheduled to attend a programme on Corporate Governance and Leadership outside the country for which per diem was issued to him.

The release explained that due to ill-health, Mr Owusu-Agyemang was unable to attend the programme and had returned the full sum of money issued to him as per diem to the Solicitor Secretary of the Board from whom he received it.

The release also denied an allegation that some members of the Board of Governors are championing the cancellation of payment of staff bonuses. Touching on an office space for the Board Chairman, it explained that it had been the tradition of COCOBOD to provide office space to its Board Chairman to work from Cocoa House and, hence, the provision of office space for the current Chairman at Cocoa House in Accra.
