The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana (TCCBCG), has been named: the “Manufacturing Company of the Year”, at the Chamber Business Awards, organised by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The coveted award, aimed at recognising excellence in manufacturing, reflects the Company’s commitment to socio-economic development in the country and value creation for consumers.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, said this was the second time the Company had been recognised in the same category. The TCCBGG forms part of the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company Group.
The Award ceremony was under the theme: “Empowering the private sector to move Ghana Beyond Aid”. The organisers aspire to distinguish those businesses that make a significant contribution to the industrial sector of the nation and strengthen the local private sector.
The statement said as an industry leader, the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited had spent over two decades operating from its Accra Bottling Plant and three strategically located depots in the cities of Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.
It said the Company also stood out for its CSR initiatives, which had prompted notable improvements in sanitation, social empowerment and health in Ghana. The statement quoted Mr Seth Adu-Baah, Managing Director of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana as saying, “We have seen with our own eyes the progress experienced throughout the region, and receiving this award twice in the past two years reminds us that our work has contributed to that development in a manner that is beneficial to all”.
