Mr Patrick Owusu, the Chairman of the Board of the Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank, has said the Bank would not relent in its efforts to support education in its catchment areas.
He said Education, Health and Community Development were the three areas of its Corporate Social Responsibility, with Education taking the chunk of the Bank’s expenditure. Mr Owusu made the remark when he read the 2017 Financial Year Report at the 35th Annual General Meeting of the Bank held at Pakyi No.2 in the Ashanti Region.
He said in 2016, Education accounted for GH¢43,475.00 out of a total of GH¢73,650.00 voted for social support, representing 59 per cent, while in 2017 it received GH¢24,250.00 out of a total of GH¢43,980.00, representing 55 per cent.
Mr Owusu said the institutions that benefitted that year included Yenyawoso Presby Primary, which received GH¢5,300.00 to purchase 40 mono desks, Atwima Kwanwoma Presby Senior High School at Pakyi No.2 received GH¢950 for refurbishment, a scholarship package of GH¢8,000.00 to four students of the School for their tertiary education, and GH¢10,000.00 to roof the school building.
He appealed to all stakeholders to rally behind the Bank to promote quality education for the sustainable development of the country.
