There is absolutely no reason that a great medical doctor should have to work around their practices burdensome schedules to see their patients. In many large hospitals and practices, wait times are long, and only open during inconvenient hours. We are open morning through night, so that our members can work with our patients. Our goal is to make medicine convenient, which are two words your typical patient has probably never heard spoken together.'
WeShareMD offers medical offices spaces to any doctor at rates of $300 for four-hour time blocks, 7 days a week, with all medical amenities included. This makes it affordable for doctors to open and grow their own medical practices without the heavy burden of a commercial lease, which many doctors say is their primary barrier to self-practice. With the rise of cloud-based technology, shared co-working office spaces, and doctors running around to tend patients around the clock, WeShare MD allows doctors to test different markets and open up new opportunities for their businesses with larger volume, ultimately helping more people become healthier and saving more lives in a more efficient manner.
George continues, "This also opens up the doors for younger doctors who are still in medical school, and who don't have the options to pay hefty yearly fees and sign contracts for yearly space. It allows for more options: we provide firewalls for Wifi Internet, hazardous material services and set-up so doctors can just walk into their new office, just like that. Another important factor is the networking. You get a social community here. You can hang out with the doctors: it's like joining a club, because WeShareMD is based on membership, with likeminded people who are more entrepreneurial and want to start their own practice. Medical referrals happen because you like them as people. We are trying to create this kind of affinity and connection."
The company launched June 1st, is filling up on tenants, searching for more doctors, and is on a mission to raise 2 million in equity capital with a large investor already on board. The hotel model, pay for what you use, will help both aspiring doctors and retiring professionals properly scale their businesses in order to fit their lifestyles. The company is set to disrupt the medical office space model, which they find to be burdensome and prohibiting to doctors. The Southern California company has two medical spaces open now in Temecula and San Diego, and are expanding to three additional locations before the end of this year. Their goal is to open nation-wide by early 2019.
