The Board of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited on Thursday 27th September 2018, launched the Ghana Trade Fair Grand Sales 2018 at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra.
Speaking at the launch, the CEO of the company, Dr Agnes Adu said that the fair is
aimed at offering local business persons whether small, medium or large scale, the platform to promote their goods and services over a 12 day period from the 27th of September to 8th October 2018. The fair will see companies from different sectors such as agriculture, hair and make-up, consumables, fabrics and banks setting up stands at the site.
She said that local and international producers will have the opportunity to meet and interact adding "we are very excited to be able to provide this platform". This year's sales will see business owners from the West African subregion as well as Europe with countries such as Turkey,India, Togo and Nigeria booking stands to showcase their products. She added that the La General Hospital will also provide free health screening for patrons and encouraged them to take advantage of the event.
She said people who have stock from January 2018 or even the previous year can use this platform to move them and create space for restocking as the Christmas season approaches.
The event will also see the use of a hot air balloon with special packages
for children from sponsors such as Cowbell and Bambini.
She added that work has been put in place concerning the revamping of the site disclosing that electricity supply was restored in her first 90 days.
Marketing Manager for the Ghana Trade Fair Company Ltd , Mr Baffour said that no
gate fee will be charged for entry and security has been upgraded even during closing hours to ensure safety of patrons and goods as well as. Registration for the event will be ongoing even till the last day to allow all and sundry to partake.
