This falls in line with the Government's flagship project - One District, One Factory (1D1F).

The factory is to process tomato paste and the construction which is on a 15-acres land would be completed by December.Upon completion, it would produce tomato paste, spices and other condiments for both the local and West Africa markets.

The two major shareholders undertaking the project - Grand Rise Food Company Ghana Limited and Tianjin Limmin Condiments Company Limited of China. The two companies have jointly invested an initial capital of three million dollars with additional capital investments in the near future.

As part of this project, there are two other collaborative investors building ancillary factories to produce tins and cartons to package the tomato and spices factory.These investors come under the name - The Tianjin Yangzhiguang Materials Company Limited and Hebei Yangzhiguag Materials Company Limited.

Mr Ahomkah-Lindsay said to ensure smooth operations, the Leefound Food Stuff would initially engage a total of 140 employees (direct jobs) and more than 500 indirect jobs when it becomes fully operational.

He said the project is in line with the Government's desire to improve the local economies through the 1D1F programme.He said MoTI in collaboration with the Management of the Company would ensure that the indigenes of the locality, Ningo-Prampram District particularly the Afienya Community, would be direct beneficiaries of employment in the Company.

He said the Government, aims at establishing at least one medium to large scale factory in all the 254 districts in the country under the 1D1F programme.Mr Ahomkah-Lindsay said the 1D1F programme was a private sector-led with Government facilitation and support in the forms of incentives and provision of infrastructure.

He said the emphasis placed on medium to large scale was due to the fact that the enterprises to be established were expected to make a significant impact on the economies of the districts."It is important to indicate that existing establishments seeking to expand their operations qualifies to be part of the programme," he said.

Mr Ahomkah-Lindsay said the 1D1F programme seeks to achieve specific objectives such as creating massive employment particularly for the youth in rural and peti-urban communities, thereby improving income levels and standards of living, as well as reduce rural-urban migration.

"I am confident that Leefound Food Stuff will contribute significantly towards the achievement of the objectives of the 1D1F programme," the Deputy Minister said.Mr Zhang Jun, Deputy Managing Director of Tianjin Foodstuffs Group, said they would abide by the laws of Ghana and operate with integrity.

He said the Company would create new employment opportunities and looks forward to welcoming more Ghanaian workers into the company.Mr Tang Hong, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ghana, said he would ensure that more Chinese companies come to invest in Ghana.

Mr Zheng Xiang Ming, Chairman of the Greenhouse Company, said Greenhouse would rely on the architectural advantage of its own companies to create a Chinese-style industrial park for their compatriots who come to Ghana to invest in the industry.He said by responding to the "One Belt, One Road" policy, the industrial park will become a home to distant enterprises.

Mr Jonathan Teye Doku, District Chief Executive of Ningo Prampram, appealed to the Management of Leefound Stuff to recruit their needed skilled labour force from the District.Dignitaries, who graced the function included Mrs Gifty Ohene-Konadu, National Coordinator, 1D1F Programme; Nii Armah Ashitey, Greater Accra Regional Minister; and Mr Xu Ning Quan, President of Fujian Chamber of Commerce in Ghana.
