The 9BS Group of Companies, an international group of investors, has said it is committed in its efforts to begin construction of projects in the Eastern Region.
The Group which is looking for investment opportunities in the Region has promised to support the development of the region by providing health, sanitation and education facilities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility role.
The Group has expressed its desire to start the construction of 10 mechanised boreholes, six libraries and four community clinics this year as their commitment to the people in the region.Mr Vairi Wabadang, Executive Chairman of 9BS Group of Companies, said this at the launch of the 9BS CSR projects at Koforidua.
He said a team of experts have surveyed the different areas where the projects will take place and as soon as possible work will begin on the projects.He said 9BS was not undertaking the projects because they have money in abundance but felt the need to contribute towards the provision of portable water, better health care and education facilities.
Professor Nana Osei Darkwa, the Board Chairman of 9BS Group of Companies, said his outfit wants the region to regard 9BS as a rapid development force, when it comes to development.Mrs Catherine Agyapomaa Appiah-Pinkrah, the Director in- Charge of Pre-Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education, said the ministry intends to embark upon a comprehensive education reform programme.
She said part of the reforms include curriculum reforms at the pre-tertiary level with focus on reading, writing, arithmetic and critical thinking.Mr Eric Kwakye Darfour, the Eastern Regional Minister, who launched the projects said the commitment shown by 9BS International is an indication that, they are not here to just make profit, but to contribute to the wellbeing of the citizenry.
