Liberty Shoes, one of the largest fashion footwear manufacturing company in India, through Sogha limited, a franchise company, has opened a retail outlet at the Accra Mall to supply its range of products to Ghanaians.
The outlet, which is the second in the country, seeks to give shoppers access to a range of footwear including sports, safety and fashion shoes, as well as its accessories. Mr Karan Israni, Chairman of Sogha Limited was assisted by his wife to cut a ribbon at a ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, to signal the commencement of business.
Present were Mr. Bobby Sawhney, Managing Director of Sogha Limited, Ms Denise Asare, Marketing Manager of Accra Mall and other senior officers of Sogha Company.
Mr Sawhney said as part of the company’s strategy to serve its customers at their doorstep, more outlets would be opened at Osu and East Legon in Accra as well as in Takoradi and Kumasi.
He said for over 60 years, Liberty with it five manufacturing companies in India, has produced brands that were popular around the world such as Worriers’ safety boots, adding that, to many big industries it was a household name.
The Managing Director called on the government to address the bureaucracies and find a way to regulate the high cost of property in the country to enable businesses to thrive and contribute to the growth of the economy. Ms Asare said the new liberty outlet would help customers to have a variety of retail shops to choose from and expressed joy at the new addition.
She said the company as part of its growth strategies was sourcing tenants that were unique to the retail industry in the country to provide innovative and new products to serve its customers better.
