The Chief Executive of Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (Vodafone Ghana), Yolanda Cuba, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of the New Times Corporation, Ms. Carol Annan, to familiarise herself with the operations of the corporation.
The visit, which comes barely six months after she assumed office as the Chief Executive of Vodafone, was also to enhance the mutual relationship between the two corporate entities.
In an interaction, Ms. Cuba underscored the importance for businesses to take full advantage of technology to enhance their service delivery.
She was certain that the new era provided a fine opportunity for organisations to drift towards and promote digital and financial inclusion in their lines of operation.
Ms. Cuba suggested to the NTC to develop an application that could upload all the pages of its newspapers for readers to technologically savvy to subscribe at a fee.
According to Ms. Cuba , Vodafone Ghana was also exploring the possibility of increasing its digital and financial inclusion from 30 per cent to 100 per cent.
That, she said, would be achieved with the vision of designing new products and tailoring others to reach the remotest parts of the country.
She was optimistic that the visit would go a long way in strengthening the relationship between the two companies and create the platform for the sharing of ideas.
Ms. Annan commended Ms. Cuba for the visit and assured of the commitment of the corporation to work collaboratively for mutual benefit.
She hinted of plans by the corporation to design a new product that would enable readers to access stories in local languages.
