Asiana Airlines Inc., South Korea's second-largest carrier, will raise its fares for international passenger flights from August, the transportation ministry said Monday.
Asiana Airlines will increase its passenger fares for routes to the United States by 5 percent and to Europe, Australia and New Zealand by 10
percent, the Ministry of Land, Transportation and Maritime Affairs said.
Asiana's fare hike comes after Korea Air Lines Co., South Korea's top airline, reported on July 13 its international fare hike plan to the
government.
Korean Air plans to raise its international fares on routes to the U.S. by 5 percent, and flights for Europe, Australia and New Zealand by 10
percent starting next month.
South Korean carriers can increase overseas passenger fares with approval from the government or after reporting fare hike plans to it.
