Mr. Ludwig Hlodze, National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that Government was committed to improving the agriculture sector to create employment for the youth.
He said that Government would establish agriculture mechanization centres through out the country to assist young people to go into farming.
Mr. Hlodze was speaking at NDC Brong Ahafo Regional youth forum on the theme: "Unite we must", which brought together supporters and regional and constituency executives of the party together, in Sunyani.
He said that tractors would be provided at the centres for the ploughing of farm lands and farming inputs would be distributed to the youth.
Mr. Hlodze called on NDC Brong Ahafo Regional and Constituency executives to acquire land from traditional rulers and register the youth interested in agriculture.
He said that a Youth Fund would be launched in August this year to raise money to support NDC youth to under go skill training and advised supporters to remain loyal to the party.
Mr. Alex Segbefia, Deputy Chief of Staff, appealed to NDC supporters to exercise patience whilst Government address the unemployment problem.
He expressed regret that NDC internal issues were being discussed in the media and appealed to members to use laid down structures and procedures of the party in settling their grievances.
Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Information, called on NDC leaders to reorganise themselves and initiate innovative measures to generate funds locally to support party activities.
He advised supporters of the party to unite, eschew internal wrangling, petty squabbles and to consider the party as supreme.
Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dr. Louisa Hannah Bisiw, Deputy Minister, Works, Housing and Water Resources, and Mr. Kwaku Atuahene, Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the party took turns to address party supporters.
