An unidentified suitcase, with a fake currency making machine in it, which was mistaken as a bomb container triggered panic at the Mahatma Gandhi central bus stand in the south Indian city Hyberabad.
The suitcase, assumed to be abandoned by an African national, was spotted in the area during the peak morning time. When no one came forward to claim the suitcase, people started suspecting that it might contain a bomb, police said.
Police was informed quickly and they rushed to the spot with bomb disposal squad. They found a machine for making fake foreign currency and a bundle of papers to make currency in it, a senior police officer told PTI.
"It seems the machine was used to print fake foreign currency notes," the police officer said, adding local police personnel earlier carried out a routine checking at the bus stand in the morning and had come across one person with African looks.
Police said the person was not to be seen in the area later and they suspected he had left behind the suitcase.
