Mr. Moses Bukari Mabengba, the Northern Regional Minister, has made a two-day tour of some parts of the region to inspect development projects, expressed satisfaction at work done and appealed to the contractors to complete work on schedule.
The tour took him to Nunumba North, Nanumba South districts and Kpandai where he inspected GETFund projects, 10 bungalows being put up at the cost of GH¢960,000 at Kpandai for staff of the decentralized departments and classroom blocks.
He inspected bungalows for tutors of the Bimbilla Training College, new classroom blocks, a Soya-bean processing factory and a mechanized water
project both at Bimbilla.
Later at a durbar in Bimbilla, the minister told the people that within a short time of the administration of the New Democratic Congress, several development projects are ongoing across the country.
He said the government had been able to do all these projects despite difficulties the government inherited from its predecessor adding that "We
would ensure we fulfil all our promises before next elections".
Mr. Mabengba assured the people that the Eastern Corridor roads would start before the 2012 general election.
Mr. Mohammed Ibin-Abass, the District Chief Executive of Nanumba North, told the people that although he met a huge debt, he had been able to defray the debt and is undertaking some development projects.
He said poor road networks and lack of portable water were the major concern of the area and appealed to the government to assist.
