A 14-member reconstituted Plan Preparation Taskforce charged to come out with a medium term development plan for the Ahafo-Ano North District has been inaugurated.
It would take critical look at the physical development needs and aspirations of the people and harmonize these with the national development
goals and objectives.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr Emmanuel Aidoo, is the Chairman.
Mr David Addai Amankwaah, the District Chief Executive, urged the Taskforce to ensure adequate consultation and involvement of the local communities.
He said they needed to have a say in matters affecting their progress and livelihood and that by so doing they would have a sense of ownership of the district plan.
Mr Amankwaah said it was also important to examine previous interventions and evaluate the successes and challenges to guide the choices
they make.
Mr Ted Oppong, the District Planning Officer, said the planning system should not only focus on provision of social and physical infrastructure but also explore ways of improved economic livelihood for the people.
