Our client, a leading multinational telecommunications company, is seeking an experienced and strategic DIRECTOR, INDIRECT SALES & DISTRIBUTION to provide leadership and oversight of its people strategy.
ROLE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will own and drive the indirect sales and distribution ecosystem to deliver market leadership, sustainable revenue growth, cost efficiency, and full regulatory compliance.
He or she will perform the following duties as well:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Define and execute the indirect sales and distribution strategy in alignment with Group and Cluster (OCI) priorities.
•Deliver market share leadership, revenue growth, and customer/POS expansion across Telco, Mobile Money, Energies, and new digital services.
•Optimize distribution economics (commissions, workforce, logistics, and digitalization) to improve EBITDA and Direct Margin.
•Translate strategy into clear, measurable objectives for Distributors, Super Agents, and POS, supported by robust KPI governance.
•Design, deploy, and scale a robust, compliant, and profitable nationwide indirect distribution network.
•Recruit, structure, and actively manage Distributors, Super Agents, Agents, and POS, including rural and underserved areas.
•Ensure continuous availability of products, cash, float, scratch cards, devices, and services across the network.
•Lead aggressive acquisition, activation, and retention programs to grow the active customer base and increase customer lifetime value.
•Ensure high standards of commercial quality, service excellence, and brand consistency in the field.
•Conduct regular field visits and distributor business reviews (weekly, monthly, and quarterly).
•Drive market intelligence gathering, competitive analysis, and rapid adjustment of commercial tactics.
•Ensure strong field animation and effective uptake of commercial offers.
•Ensure full compliance with the OLIB Compliance Program, Zero Tolerance to Corruption policy, and AML/CFT requirements across the indirect network.
•Enforce strict adherence to distribution contracts, operational procedures, and regulatory obligations.
•Proactively identify and manage reputational, financial, and compliance risks associated with partners and distribution activities.
•Lead, coach, and develop indirect sales and distribution teams.
•Set objectives, assess performance, and build critical capabilities in collaboration with HR.
•Drive continuous process improvement, digital transformation, and change management initiatives.
•Manage and defend departmental budgets, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
