The Workshop Manager for the Heavy-duty trucks will oversee to the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient and timely servicing and repair of trucks. This role includes supervising a team of technicians, managing service schedules, and coordinating with the parts department for parts availability. The Workshop Manager will collaborate closely with the Customer Relations Officer and Workshop Administrator to ensure smooth communication between the workshop and customers, addressing service-related concerns. Additionally, the Workshop Manager will maintain safety compliance and continuously seek improvements in workshop efficiency and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Workshop Operations Management:
Supervise daily Truck service operations, ensuring that repairs and maintenance are performed efficiently and meet high-quality standards.
⦁ Team Leadership & Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, providing them with guidance, training, and support.
⦁ PDI for all new trucks: Ensure all thorough pre-delivery checks and driver training are done before delivery of trucks to customers. Handle after sales servicing and customer issues.
⦁ Service Scheduling & Coordination:
Organize and prioritize Truck service schedules to optimize workflow and meet customer deadlines.
⦁ Spare Parts Coordination:
Work with the spare parts department to ensure the timely availability of parts for repairs and maintenance.
⦁ Customer Support Collaboration:
Partner with the Customer Relations Officer to address customer concerns, ensuring that all vehicle service issues are communicated and resolved effectively.
⦁ Quality Control & Service Standards:
Monitor and inspect work to ensure that it meets company service standards and customer expectations.
⦁ Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure the workshop adheres to all safety regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
⦁ Budget & Resource Management:
Assist in managing the workshop budget, ensuring the effective use of resources while controlling costs.
⦁ Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track workshop performance through KPIs (service efficiency, technician productivity, customer satisfaction) and provide regular reports to management.
⦁ Process Improvement:
Continuously look for ways to improve service delivery, reduce vehicle downtime, and enhance overall workshop efficiency.
Required Experience:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in workshop management, preferably in Heavy Duty Truck service
2. Proven experience in leading and managing a team of mechanics and technicians.
