The role seeks to expand the Business Development activities of the Biomedical Engineering Department at our company in the quest to drive, improve and maximize all sales opportunities in the appropriate markets with primary focus on medical equipment. Other areas in the Biomedical Engineering Department such as projects planning, key design support and consultation, technical business advice, installation, repair and preventative maintenance on all hospital equipment by company through its subsidiaries are also to be enhanced in its operation, position or reputation in some way. The role also plays leadership role in providing guidance, managing and supporting the Engineers for effective and efficient overall operational results.

Your Responsibilities would involve but not limited to:
• Develop sales pipeline for company’s biomedical products and services.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing resources to ensure that a project successfully achieves its target goals within the given constraints.
• Assist with equipment pre-purchase assessment and planning to ensure feasibility of product in terms of design and economic viability.
• Develop and implement an annual medical equipment Business Development plan for the Company.
• Prepare an annual marketing budget and manage the budget throughout the year.
• Maintain a cycle of business development activities including the identification and
cultivation of potential clients, market research, preparing marketing strategies and
plans, marketing visits, presentations, attendance at conferences and seminars,
delivering and generally maintaining for the Company a high-profile presence in the
medical equipment market.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of expressions of interest, pre-qualification
documents and proposals ensuring high and consistent standards are maintained
throughout.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and potential key clients, strategic
partner firms and independent consultants.
• Ensure technical standards are being maintained, QA procedures are being followed and appropriate health and safety standards are being adhered to.
• Assist with the identification, selection and appointment of suitable permanent and
retained staff to grow this business organically.
• Conduct reviews of projects, ensuring that any lessons learnt are appropriately
disseminated and acted upon.
• Research on the competitors’ products by evaluating characteristics and pricing for the best price in the niche market.
• Collaborate and assist the procurement department in ordering medical equipment or related biomedical items as well follow ups to determine status of ordered items.
• Working with the technical team, develop and manage an up-to-date understanding
of the macroeconomic environment over the agreed plan period, using the
information to consider the implications for existing and new sectors.
• Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand
promotion that will contribute to the achievement of UHG objectives
• Take initiative to respond to, resolve and follow up on customer issues in a timely manner.
• Lead the team of Engineers on creating schedules and tracking inventory.
• Supervise to ensure work orders are completed within established time frames.
• Interact with manufacturer's representatives to obtain the necessary technical product support.
• Provide advice on managing infection control.
• Work with other departments to provide equipment solutions or advice to client.
• Keep up to date with new technological developments locally, nationally and internationally.
• Maintain a comprehensive database containing details of all equipment managed by company.
• Provide guidelines to the biomedical department on tenders and equipment marketing respectively.
• Provide weekly operational reports on activities within the department to supervisor.
