The Production Planning & Control Manager is responsible for developing and executing production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources, and balancing customer demand with plant capacity. The role ensures on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and smooth coordination between production, procurement, and sales to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Job description:
• Develop and implement master production schedules based on sales forecasts, orders and capacity.
• Coordinate with procurement, stores and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and resources.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods and raw material inventories to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Track production output, analyze variances and adjust schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Optimize machine utilization, manpower allocation, and production flow to minimize downtime and bottlenecks.
• Implement production planning tools, systems, and best practices.
• Collaborate with sales, logistics and quality assurance to align production with customer requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across planning and control functions.
