Description
- JOB PURPOSE:
To supervise and carry out an internal audit and report findings to Quality Assurance Manager to ensure factory’s compliance, follow up on all corrective/preventive measures on internal and external defective product and non-compliance raised by 3rd party auditors and our internal audit report, supervise the Quality Control Officer to ensure completion of daily task and ensure the basic maintenance of the laboratory equipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry or a related field.
- 3 years experience working as a lab supervisor.
- Working experience operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment.
- Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.)
- In depth knowledge of preventative measures, and laboratory best practices.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
- Superb dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- To observe all the company's Food Safety Systems requirement (FSSC 22000)
- To multi-task and work with little or no supervision.
- To possess good teamwork skills.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure that samples are sent to SGS/GSA/FRI for microbial, heavy metals, every 4 months.
- Ensure good laboratory practices and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices in the factory.
- Liaise with QAM to ensure compliance on the Seaboard Food Safety/ FSSC 22000/ QA programs by carrying out internal audit.
- Daily Monitoring of the expiry date of finished products to ensure FIFO compliance.
- Update the traceability records for both feed and flour.
- Follow up on all corrective and preventive action and improvement programs for both internal and external defective feed & flour products.
- Participate in 3rd party audits and follow up on improvement programs.
- Assist with food research, development, and quality control.
- Q.A. Inventory audit twice a week to ensure that we do not run out of stock.
- Liase with QAM in training workers and new employees on Food Safety Requirements. (FSSC 22000, PRPs, HACCP)
- Read through compiled test results, prepare graphs, charts and reports based on the results obtained.
- To present a report in the form of graphs or charts based on the test results gathered.
- To present a report on research, development, internal audit and quality control activities.
