Position Title: Production Supervisor

Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing floor. This role includes managing production staff, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining safety standards, and meeting quality and output targets. The supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production line, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Coordination:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Review production schedules and ensure that production targets are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor raw material availability and manage workflows to minimize downtime and delays.
Team Management:
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to maintain a high level of performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Assign work tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production requirements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that production processes adhere to company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor production processes to identify and address any quality issues, inefficiencies, or deviations.
- Implement corrective actions for quality issues and ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols.
- Conduct inspections of finished goods to verify quality standards.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, risk assessments, and safety audits to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that the production area is organized and adheres to safety standards.
Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of production machinery and equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally and coordinate with the maintenance team to resolve issues.
- Ensure regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement techniques to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Collect and analyze data to measure production efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, inventory counts, and machine logs.
- Report on production progress, downtime, and any issues to the Production Manager or senior management.
- Prepare production reports, including analysis of operational performance, quality, and output.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Quickly address and resolve production-related problems or obstacles to maintain smooth operations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and maintenance, to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Cost Management:
- Monitor production costs and work within the established budget to ensure cost-effective production.
- Analyze cost structures and suggest improvements to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least [1-2] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience with production planning, machine operation, and process optimization in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
