Qualifications
Must possess a valid Nursing license; three years of nursing experience, including management experience
A proactive individual who takes initiative to identify and solve problems. Must be a ‘people person’ able to relate to staff, the Company residents and daycare clients, family members, visitors, government staff, and the public in a courteous and diplomatic and professional manner under all circumstances; must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to elder care.
The preferred candidate will be able to plan, organize and schedule work tasks and duties for assigned staff; design and interpret program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to providing quality care to the Company resident and adult care clients.
They will be a team player with strong public relations skills.
Must be able to cope with the high levels of stress that the position may cause.
The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in the care of the elderly and for issues that impact the elderly

Description
- The Wellness Officer will manage the day-to-day personal wellness care operations of our senior assisted living community. Our residents and their families will enjoy the peace and assurance of knowing their family members are being taken care of by an experienced and compassionate wellness care team that the Wellness Officer will lead. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to constant interaction with residents and families to guarantee their satisfaction
- Orient new residents and their family members to functions of the personal and wellness care department.
- Interview residents and/or responsible parties to obtain pertinent data regarding each resident’s interests, skills, hobbies, capabilities. Work with Activities Supervisor to develop an activity plan with each resident, document plan and progress notes per applicable standards, regulations, and facility policy.
- Develop, supervise, and render individualized personal and wellness care to the company's clients as a licensed staff member.
- Monitor and notify Director of Operations and family members or responsible party of any change in a the Company's client’s condition according to facility procedure.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent care information to assure protection of resident rights.
- Participate in the development of administrative policies and procedures; and direct implementation of approved work methods and procedures that reflect elements essential to rendering high-quality care
- Review and evaluate existing clerical/administrative policies and practices to determine if current methods provide the means for the staff to carry out their responsibilities and achieve projected goals
- Assist in developing job classifications and descriptions of the Company's wellness personnel; and assist in hiring, orienting, training, and evaluating a qualified, well-organized staff to provide individualized wellness care for the Company's clients. Fill needs of schedule and assignment as needed.
- Implement all policies and procedures established in the Risk Management and Infection Control Manuals to maintain a safe environment.
- Order and maintain inventory of wellness-related supplies, equipment, and supplemental services for residents.
- Supervise house cleaning and laundry.
- Participate in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the Company's program.
- Improve professional knowledge through professional reading, in-service education, and other avenues. Attends in-service education sessions on a regular basis.
