An IT Company is inviting applications from suitable qualified persons for the position of Technicians

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks


2. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues


3. Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure


4. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements


5. Troubleshoot issues and outages


6. Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls


7. Upgrade systems with new releases and models


8. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)


9. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications


10. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance


11. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems


12. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment


13. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work


14. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)


15. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule


16. Monitor approved security software and tools to ensure maximum security and protection against ICT intrusion and other attacks.


17. Provide support in the investigation of IT related issues/challenges.


18. Perform troubleshooting on IT related issues.


19. Update inventory of spare parts to facilitate repairs operations/activities.


20. Prepare monthly and periodic reports related to job function.


21. Perform any other duty(s) assigned by Superior Officer.

SKILLS, COMPRTENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position


2. Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills


3. Excellent communication ability


4. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills


5. In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks


6. Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles


7. Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field


8. Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)

EDUCATION

Minimum of a first degree or equivalent professional background in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering
