Job Summary:
The Line Supervisor oversees daily operations of assigned production lines in a soap and detergents manufacturing
facility. This role ensures efficient execution of production schedules, adherence to quality and safety standards, and
direct supervision of line operators. The Line Supervisor acts as the frontline leader, resolving real-time issues and
maintaining seamless workflow to meet output targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Line Management: The Line Supervisor will Supervise and Coordinate activities of line operators to
meet daily production targets.
2. Monitor line performance metrics:
• (e.g., output rates, downtime, waste) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure machinery (mixers, fillers, packaging lines) operates efficiently and troubleshoot minor equipment
issues.
• Escalate major equipment malfunctions to maintenance/engineering teams via the Shift In-Charge.
3. Quality Assurance
• Enforce strict compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality protocols.
• Conduct hourly checks for product consistency (e.g., weight, pH, viscosity) and document results.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to address deviations and ensure defective batches are quarantined.
• Maintain accurate batch records, line logs, and checklists for traceability and audits. 3. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all operators wear appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures (e.g., chemical handling, lockout/tagout).
• Conduct daily safety briefings and participate in hazard identification/risk assessments.
• Report incidents/near-misses to the Shift In-Charge and assist with investigations.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., waste segregation, spill management).
4. Team Leadership
• Train new operators on equipment operation, safety protocols, and SOPs.
• Assign tasks, manage shift rotations, and ensure adequate staffing for uninterrupted production.
• Provide constructive feedback to operators and recognize high performers.
• Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
5. Production Reporting
• Document hourly/daily production data (output, scrap, downtime causes) in real time.
• Prepare end-of-shift reports for the Production Shift In-Charge.
• Communicate material shortages, quality issues, or delays promptly.
6. Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to optimize line efficiency, reduce waste, and improve yield.
• Participate in Lean/5S initiatives (e.g., workstation organization, visual management).
• Suggest equipment adjustments or procedural changes to enhance productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• 2+ years in manufacturing (FMCG, chemicals, or soap/detergents preferred).
• 1+ years in a supervisory or team-lead role.
Certifications:
OSHA, GMP, or Lean Manufacturing training (a plus).
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with production line machinery (e.g., mixers, conveyors, labeling/packaging systems).
Knowledge:
• Understanding of batch processing, quality control, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys) for troubleshooting. Key Competencies

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and process adherence.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and shift demands. Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Physical: Standing/walking for 90% of the shift, lifting up to 20 kg, exposure to noise/vibrations.
Physical Demand & Environment:
• Manufacturing floor with exposure to raw materials (fragrances, chemicals).
• PPE (gloves, goggles, ear protection) required.
• Shift: Rotating shifts, including nights/weekends.
